I just died.
This is a Hayate post. Those of you eagerly awaiting season 2 are given a small appetizer of what's coming up in this OVA. For those of you who are waiting for subs however, don't continue reading since this post is just going to spoil it for you. This post is just a post scraping together what little win the episode has, and turns it into a collection of the meagre memories of the entre to the 2nd season.

If there is one thing I find interesting about Hayate no Gotoku, is the number of easter eggs I can expect to see in the show. In at least one or two parts of the story, I get to see some random reference to another anime again. Today however, this was a bit unexpected. When Hayate said he prefers 2-D girls, I was like... がーん, and I saw something that I thought God forbade to be ever shown again. Anyway, today's story is relatively meaningless, save for the fact that Hayate has not caught up on his life before Nagi and that all of us almost forgot that there was a dere character in the first episode. Read on for a really really REALLY big spoiler.
I suppose everyone has watched Hayate no Gotoku episode 11 by now. If you were wondering what he was talking about just before the OP in the show, well its a very old show called Hikari Sentai Masked Man. I remember watching it when I was around 10 or 11, when TV2 had it dubbed in Malay. I can't believe I actually remembered the stuff they said. Although it was dubbed in Malay, the opening was still Japanese with subtitles, so I suddenly felt a sense of nostalgia when I heard what Hayate said. XD.

As promised, here are some of the references made in Hayate no Gotoku Episode 10, as a result of Hata Sensei's storytelling. Referencing of this magnitude in this series is unprecedented and warrants a double post on the same episode. I ain't an otaku like Konata to the point where I could sing some "Masked Man"-style old Japanese intro song to some obscure anime, but I am able to point out at least some of it after some amount of research. A big thank you goes to ineser and randomc for helping me point these out!

This episode can be summarized in one word: Random. Are the guys at Shogakukan and TV Tokyo trying to imitate Shaft!? I mean, references to other anime once in a while is okay, but omg. Alright. Its fine by me but Hayate no Gotoku doesn't seem like the kind of anime which does so many references to other shows. Interestingly however, I found it strangely funny at the time I watched it. At times lame, and at sometimes confusing. Oh well. Today is Tabletier's birthday party so I'm gonna have to write this review tomorrow. Check back again for some of the interesting highlights of the references made in Hayate no Gotoku EP 10! Meanwhile, feast your eyes on our beloved Student Council President Hinagiku!
Lacus has nothing on her.
Alright, so continuing from last week, we had Nagi's fianece come to see her, but had to escape some robots since he ain't welcome in the Sanzenin Mansion says Nagi. Anyway since everyone knows everyone now, we can move on to the next story.
This week, our hero gets into more trouble as he (thinks that he) can't return with a ruined expensive cashmere coat. But... something worse awaits him at the Sanzenin Mansion.
