Toradora is getting dark. I LIKE IT. It's about time the story has thrown away its total comedy policy and give us some serious drama and development. I was surprised when Kihara started becoming really aggressive in attempting to be with Kitamura, though I don't see her having any plan to take advantage of it. Meanwhile, the entire class has been lagging on the love tangle that's going on now and it's not helping.
*SPOILER WARNING*

Having read Michael's post on Toradora 20 and his vivid description of astonishment at the changes Taiga underwent after Christmas got me thinking about the changes Taiga underwent too (After reading the post before that he must have haeted Taiga quite a bit). I watched that episode again, and sure enough, Taiga wasn't the same anymore, but what happened to Minorin was actually even more surprising. I decided I had to say something about this, but after trying to say a few words in his comment box, I decided I was writing quite a bit and decided that this means it should be a blog post instead.

Toradora 20 is finally kicking up some dust as Taiga decides to stop clinging to Ryuuji and let Minorin approach him better. ITS ABOUT TIME. I could so relate to Minorin not being able to get close to Ryuuji because Taiga is always hanging around him. It took this daft girl a while to figure that out. Meanwhile, lets have a look at what's going on with Minorin this time!

I must say that Toradora has been full of surprises lately. First with Minorin's crazy randomness, and then her transformation into a very very emo and sad girl, and then Aisaka's sudden transformation into a good girl. And now a christmas party at the school continues to entertain us with new plot twists and surprises.

Toradora 17's out with a new arc. This episode really intrigued me because our happy-go-lucky friend Minorin has suddenly shed her shell of laughter and happiness and suddenly put on a face of melancholy and gloom. For some, this is a very new development. Though I've said that I liked Minorin's hyper outside, I saw this coming. Minorin's past happy-happy outer shell seemed nothing more than a cover up to some much deeper problems after a while, and just longs to share it with someone.

If anyone of you has watched Toradora 5, you'd take this video to heart. This video, splendidly composed using Yui Horie's best performance yet, captures the true spirit of Minori and her off-tune singing, with some parrot and Taiga yawn thrown into the mix. This piece of gold is truly a reminder of how precious a treasure trove the Internet is. Enjoy.

Toradora has been running quite high with randomness lately. This week we get to see some more wtf involving Taiga and Minori and Ami's diet. Here are a few screenshots of the weirdest scenes ever in Toradora.

The arrival of part-time model Kawashima Ami in to the world of Toradora today has caused an anomalous response in our favorite Toradora girl this week. Possible causes are Ami's use of Ryuuji as a scapegoat and the disclosure of her real self to Aisaka Taiga. Minorin, hoping to root for Taiga also wishes to create powerful impressions in Ryuuji for the purpose of 'protecting the relationship of him and Taiga', and for the purposes of comforting Taiga, provides us today with some of these powerful impressions.

The new ED for Toradora is awesome salt. Its been a while since Macross Frontier that a good OP/ED has come out. I must say that the things I enjoyed the most about this song is its bass music, the long pulled notes, and the ringing clicks just after the chorus starts. Horie Yui makes good work of this song IMO, and gives it a feel many other songs (including Seikan Hikou) lacks. This one actually sounds like she's enjoying a cup of vanilla salt, which, by the way is real.
Anyway, since this song is so awesome, the lyrics are after the jump, along with a video for you to sing along to.

Minorin is very quickly becoming my favorite girl in Toradora. Such a bubbly girl is hard to find these days. All of the girls that walk around are either emo-zombies or cynical brats who think that life in the world is hard and gossip and hate everyone around them. That, and being able to work so many part time jobs is nothing short of amazing. Hell, I wonder where she gets all that energy from. I can't even harness enough energy to blog every day! Pics after the jump.
