This is probably one of the extremely few times I'll post any screencaps coming out of fansubs. But was just so hilarious the first time I saw it. I mean, yeah the girls are hot and stuff but man, this cartoon looks like it was made in the 90's. I enjoyed it tho, and especially the green-haired girl who likes to swim naked apparently is the cause of this song being chosen for the OP. I wouldn't call swimming close to the surface of the water "flying high" but if it's a bunch of highschool girls swimming in modern "non PE" swimsuits, I'm sure there will be a tissue loaded audience ready to pounce on every episode that comes out. Don't get me wrong. I watch this because its FUNNY.
Cute dangoes are out to get us! More after the jump!
It has been a while since I have seen another one of the anime world's treasures. The incredibly highly anticipated CLANNAD had been released just last week, and naturally, our gods of animation KyoAni did not disappoint. The introduction was a marvellously paced OP that quickly brought the anime into life, not to mention all the girls shown in the OP managed to hit all my moe buttons.Best of all, the ED of the moe generator rocks my socks so hard I really had to make this flash as a tribute to it! XD
* edit: It seems the flash thingy messed up my layout in certain supposedly standards compliant browsers. Oh well, I ripped t his image off anyway as a placeholder until I can find a fix.
This season, I have seen one too many anime series which started out really good but ended up really lame. One of the hugest disappointments of this season was Zero no Tsukaima Futatsuki no Kishi. Apparently the sequel follows in its predecessor's footsteps in creating one huge jumbled mess of the few ending episodes. Very disappointing indeed.
However, all is not lost. In my bid to become the true otaku I have always aspired to become, I obtained Higurashi no naku koro ni and higurashi no naku koro ni kai. I was a skeptic at first, but now I'm a believer. Higurashi is not just about mindless killing and psychotic murderers. It is a mystery, and one that deserves an applause at that.
For those of you who do not know, Higurashi is a story revolving around a group of friends. One of which is Maebara Keiichi. He moved into Hinamizawa, a small village this year and learned about a very strange occurrence in the village. Every year since the past 5 years, a mysterious death occured during the festival of Watanagashi. This is a story of how the friends lived through the ordeals. This is one anime which really makes a mystery novel look simple. It has an excellent plot, compared to most other anime, and the second season is even more exciting to watch, since its where the mystery is finally unravelled.
Few anime catch my eyes like this, and deserves to be written on to my gold 16x DVD-R media for the benefit of generations to come.
Well, looks like judgement day is going to be coming sooner than expected. The second coming of the incredibly highly anticipated Suzumiya Haruhianime series has been made public on NewType Magazine. OMG! When I saw darkmirage and some other bloggers blog about it, I jumped. An immediate rush was made to the Japanese BBSes and sure enough, I found "ハルヒ2期今度こそ本当に決定!" (Haruhi second season is really official this time!) KyoAnihas not made any official announcement yet. I'd expect it to come soon though. since they need to update the TV Guides. The show is expected to air autumn this year.
I'm about to check the Pak Toh box on my msn message so, I'll do some translation once I get back. If people want it of course heh. Meanwhile, For those who can read moon:

And here are some images for you to ponder over while I'm away in the REAL WORLD.
キターーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー\(=ω=・)/ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー!
So I managed to get first looks on the latest new anime episodes just aired in Japan, and I have mixed feelings about them. As I always say, judging an anime by its first episode is like judging a book by its cover. But usually, the cover will tell you what to expect, and it's not always wrong. Mind you these are just personal opinions which I just felt like telling everyone about. Feel free to comment.

A Haruhiist has made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Nishinomiya Town. This town is located somewhere in Kansai near Hyougo. It is the place where Haruhi Suzumiya (a.k.a. "God") lives/lived in the animated series, and this devout pilgrim has had the honor and privilege to make it to this most sacred town to worship and admire the consecrated grounds itself! Pray to Haruhi that I may someday have the opportunity too to follow the stars of Orihime and Hikoboshi to pay tribute myself to Her.
Okay enough religious talk for now. This site is a site created by a fellow who made the trip around Nishinomiya and took photos of the places used in the scenes of the animated series, and placed the photos side by side with the scenes used. The artists who drew the animated series Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu apparently chose somewhere close to home to set the scenes for the unfolding of the story. (if you didn't know, they are from Kyoto Animation) They took photos of many many places and placed the characters nicely into the scenes to tell the story almost exactly the way it was told in the novel. It's quite impressive how closely the artists followed the images. Some were apparently changed a bit to make drawing easier and to make the scenery prettier. Some photos aren't quite the same because the seasons were probably different, but I gotta give this guy credit for doing all that. I have no idea how much time he spent just trying to find the place of interest, but it was probably an incredible amount of time and effort. Kudos to the fella.
Groove coverage was right. God is a girl.
I have become attracted to anime feature films lately. First 5 cm/s now this. Anyway. I don't watch crap, and it's about time I actually said something about this movie. In short, recommended. It's a romance/comedy/sci-fi film and a definite must-see if you liked 5cm/s.

Alright. So I was walking by ineser's room today and heard some "dungam gundam" sounds and decided to check it out. Looks like he got his hands on some new anime again. However, this one was pretty special. For one thing, its got a really *cough*catchy name. I mean, (I'm gonna rant now) WTF IS KISS DUM!? When I first heard the name I was like LMAO and ROFL and OMGWTFBBQ and all the abbreviations related to surprise, shock and strangeness. I'm gonna jump the guy who gave that name to an anime I mean seriously... before I heard that I thought Manabi Straight was a bad name, or Hidamari Sketch or something like that, but seriously this one jumped right to the top of my WTF list. I guess an era is coming where all anime will have at least one English, or European word in it.

Haha. I'm late watching another series again. This one is a fantasy story about the life of a cute red haired girl with burning eyes who polices some extradimensional space and replaces "eaten humans" with torches, Shakugan no Shana. When I first saw it, I was pretty impressed with the opening scenes and the usual half-complete cryptic explanation of whats going on to build up suspense, it then started ceremoniously with drum beats into the opening. It was pretty good, even my flatmate said so.
